3 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Day

How to be more productive.

Twenty-four hours seems like a long time, but we all know that’s not the case. Hours slip by quickly and days seem to disappear. It almost feels as if time is speeding up. Falling into inefficiency and laziness is all too easy— aimlessly scrolling, being unable to focus, and getting distracted by the nuances of life.

Everyone needs a healthy dose of lazy every now and then, but how can we make our days count and be more productive with our precious time?

A life is composed of small moments. It’s important we choose to be intentional with each moment we’re given. All we have is today.

Here’s how to be more productive and get the most out of your day.

1. Keep a tight schedule.

Before your week begins, map out an exact schedule. Plan out your days hour-by-hour if need be. Set aside precise time for work, fun, and rest. If you go into your week with defined goals, you’ll be more likely to stick to your schedule and be successful.

2. Put your phone away.

Our phones have become an intricate part of our lives. We check them constantly throughout the day without even realizing what we’re doing. It’s true that this piece of technology acts as our anchor for communication— but it also hurts us in insidious and undermining ways. Be intentional about no-phone time and set your device aside. See how your brain changes and your productivity level increases.

3. Believe in yourself.

Procrastination is one of the most common ways we waste away our days. “I’ll get to that soon,” and “I’ll make time for that later,” all seem like proactive intentions, but they’re really just our anxieties coming out to play. When you don’t meet something head-on, you’re shrinking away from fulfilling your responsibilities because there’s something deeper going on. Understand your potential. Believe in your abilities. You’re more powerful and capable than you could ever imagine. Being more productive (and happy) is in your future.
