3 Affirmations for Listening to Your Instincts

Your instincts are your superpower. They’re in communication with both your soul and the universe. But it’s up to you to listen to them. Here are 3 affirmations for listening to your instincts.

1. “I believe in the voice in the back of my mind. This is my soul talking.”

Humans are good at becoming distracted. We like to overthink everything, because we’re intelligent and understand both error and risk. We also worry because we care, too much at times. But we make the world more complicated than it has to be.

The moments of our lives would benefit from being approached with pure simplicity. Instead of overthinking, what if you chose to listen to your gut every time you were met with a decision? This is divine guidance. This is the universe directly handing you a book of answers. Choosing to accept these answers gets easier the more you intentionally seek them out. And when they appear, don’t talk yourself out of believing them. Don’t think twice.

2. “I know how to differentiate between fear and truth. The negative chatter in my head isn’t instinct. Instinct doesn’t feel like a question mark. It feels like home.”

Not every thought you have is good or useful. There’s a lot of noise in this world that needs filtering out. These negative voices can take hold of us when we’re least expecting it, especially in moments of urgency and fear. But we take their power away simply by recognizing them for what they are— self-sabotaging pieces of white noise.

Your job is to sift through the negativity until you find your true inner voice. This is the divine power inside you, a source of warmth and knowledge, a golden sphere of guidance and protection. It feels like home and talks like prayer. I know you feel it; you always have. It never leaves you. When you’re in need, all you have to do is listen.

3. “My instincts know more than I do. They can see the whole picture when I can see only a small sliver.”

How many times have you looked back on a situation or decision only to think, “Wait, what was I thinking? Why didn’t I listen to my gut?” You talk yourself out of making good decisions all the time, for a thousand different reasons. And you do this partly because you’re afraid to trust yourself. You don’t understand the realness of your power. The truth of the matter is that you are wiser, smarter, and more capable than you realize.

As Marianne Williamson once said, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” The part of you that is powerful beyond measure? That’s your soul. Your truest you. The part of you directly tied to your instincts. This is why listening to your instincts means honoring your soul, your higher power, and the greatest good.

The voices in your head are asking you to break down your walls to let the light in. Make room for the universe to help you. You’re in the business of choosing love and guidance over fear.
